On the morning of June 21, the graduation ceremony of the first training course for teachers of Guangxi vocational colleges in 2023 (12th in all), hosted by the Department of Education of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Hong Kong Vocational Training Council and undertaken by Nanning College for Vocational Technology (NCVT) and Guangxi-Hong Kong Modern Vocational Education Development Center, was held. Wang Zhuo, Deputy Director of the Vocational and Adult Education Division of the Department of Education of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Huang Chunbo, Vice President of NCVT attended the graduation ceremony and delivered a speech. The graduation ceremony was presided over by Chen Guihu, Director of the Party and Government Office, NCVT.
In his speech, Wang Zhuo pointed out that in recent years, Guangxi has seen good momentum in the reform and development of vocational education. Our autonomous region has achieved good results in the National Vocational Students Skills Competition, National Textbook Construction Award, National Teaching Achievement Award, and so on. This year, the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region jointly issued the implementation plan for promoting the integration of industry and education and creating a hub for open, collaborative, and innovative ASEAN vocational education. With this, our autonomous region's vocational education will usher in newer and better development policies. Introducing high-quality resources from Hong Kong to conduct teacher training in Guangxi is a concrete measure to promote regional cooperation and enhance the quality and level of vocational education. All trainees should fully draw on the good experiences and practices of vocational education in Hong Kong and closely combine them with the practical work of NCVT to plan new ideas and initiatives for the development of our educational course with a broader vision and higher positioning and truly transform the learning outcomes into a powerful driving force for advancing vocational education across the entire autonomous region.
During the graduation ceremony, Huang Chunbo expressed gratitude to the Education Department of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council for their guidance and support. Besides, he also extended sincere congratulations to all the trainees for their successful completion of training tasks and smooth graduation. He pointed out that the key expert for this training class has a solid theoretical foundation in vocational education and rich practical experience. The training course has seen lively classroom discussions and ideal results, meeting the expected goals. The Guangxi-Hong Kong Modern Vocational Education Development Center will continue to bring in advanced training programs from abroad to contribute NCVT's strength to the building of the teaching staff in Guangxi vocational colleges.
The training course lasted for five days, during which the trainees improved their understanding of quality assurance and evaluation content of vocational education as well as their international perspectives through listening to lectures by experts, visiting the Anthropology Museum and Nanning Craftsman College of the School of Architectural Engineering, engaging in group discussions, and presenting their findings.
